Srinagar, Jan 31 : Inhabitants
of Muslimabad Tengpora Bye-Pass Section -I are up in arms against the
authorities for failing to provide proper drainage system in the
area.
The inhabitants under the banner of the Welfare Committee
Muslimabad said they face immense problems due to lack of drainage facility in
the area.
“In absence of drainage facility, lanes and by-lanes are
submerged during rains and snowfall. It has become difficult for us to even
venture out of our homes. The rain water has seeped into our foundation of our
houses. Walls and foundation of various houses have developed cracks,” they
said.
“We have been moving from pillar to post for construction of
drainage system in the area, however repeated pleas have met with deaf ears,”
the locals said.
The Welfare Committee Muslimabad has appealed MLA
Batamaloo Irfan Shah and SMC Commissioner Dr G N Qasba to look into the matter
and get the problem solved at the earliest.
