Srinagar, Jan 29 : Traders
of Shaher-e-Khaas have expressed strong resentment over alleged harassment by
some lower rung officials of Sales Tax department and threatened to launch a
peaceful agitation against it.
A delegation of traders representing
various areas of Shaher-e-Khaas said that despite paying sales tax quarterly,
some lower rung officials of the concerned department “unnecessarily harass”
them.
“Due to harassment many traders have stopped to procure goods from
other states and even closed their shops. We make a fervent appeal to CM to look
into the matter and save us from further harassment,” they
said.
